I spent some time at the Aigas Field Centre, near Inverness , Scotland, in May 2011. I was lucky enough to get some shots of Great Spotted Woodpeckers around their nest. There were clearly young in the nest as I could hear them squeaking. I spent a day and a half at the nest and got to know some of their habits quite well.
